Dr.
Jodi Brown-Heekin founded Heekin Animal Hospital in April 2004.
She is a life-long Kentuckian and is a 1987 graduate of the Auburn
University College of Veterinary Medicine. As a senior student at
Auburn, she was recognized by the American Association of Feline Practitioners
for her interest and proficiency in feline medicine.
She is a past president of the Cincinnati Veterinary Medical Association
and is the 1995 recipient of the Hamilton County SPCA’s Humane
Care Award. She was also a board member of the Ohio Animal Health
Foundation, an organization that funds research for pet health.
She has more than 16 years of experience working as a veterinarian
at Tennessee Avenue Animal Hospital in Cincinnati. While at TAAH,
she expanded her interest in internal medicine, and is skilled in
the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of medical conditions.
She is also an experienced surgeon and is qualified to perform many
types of surgical procedures. What she finds most rewarding is the
time that she spends with individual pet owners and their pets.
When she is not at the animal hospital, Dr. Heekin spends time
with her husband and two children. She also enjoys gardening and
music.
The family has a Labrador mix named Griffin, and two cats, Teddy
and Blackberry. Griffin was a stray in need of elbow surgery, Teddy
came with a broken leg, and Blackberry arrived when he was only
2 days old! |

Karen Willmann
Karen is originally from Ft. Mitchell. She is a 1999 graduate
of Raymond Walters College with a degree in Veterinary Technology.
She is licensed by both Ohio and Kentucky as a Registered
Veterinary Technician. Like Dr. Heekin, she acquired much
of her experience at Tennessee Avenue Animal Hospital in Cincinnati.
Karen's skills are an integral part of patient care, since
she is experienced in diagnostic testing procedures, treatment
procedures, anesthesia, and dental cleaning. Karen and husband
Russ are building a new house in Burlington. They will share
their new home with six dogs, an African Gray Parrot, a parakeet,
one cat, and several gerbils. When not caring for her menagerie,
Karen enjoys art.
Andra Warneford
Andra is our Office Manager. She has many
years of experience working with the public in both veterinary
and non-veterinary settings. She enjoys working in a service
industry, and loves the fact that she can help people and
animals at the same time. Andra developed her office management
skills during the eight years she worked for the Welcome
House social service agency. She is also quite experienced
in the
veterinary field, having worked for seven years as a receptionist
in a veterinarian's office. She also makes a great assistant
when the need arises! At home, Andra has four cats. She
would love to share her life with a dog, but she is always
on
the
go and feels like he would be lonely left at home. (Not that
he would be alone, with his four cat-friends!) Andra also
enjoys
reading, swimming, needlework, music, and time with family
and friends.
