For a lifetime of care.
Jodi & GriffinDr. Jodi Brown-Heekin founded Heekin Animal Hospital in April 2004. She is a life-long Kentuckian and is a 1987 graduate of the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. As a senior student at Auburn, she was recognized by the American Association of Feline Practitioners for her interest and proficiency in feline medicine.

She is a past president of the Cincinnati Veterinary Medical Association and is the 1995 recipient of the Hamilton County SPCA’s Humane Care Award. She was also a board member of the Ohio Animal Health Foundation, an organization that funds research for pet health.

She has more than 16 years of experience working as a veterinarian at Tennessee Avenue Animal Hospital in Cincinnati. While at TAAH, she expanded her interest in internal medicine, and is skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of medical conditions. She is also an experienced surgeon and is qualified to perform many types of surgical procedures. What she finds most rewarding is the time that she spends with individual pet owners and their pets.

When she is not at the animal hospital, Dr. Heekin spends time with her husband and two children. She also enjoys gardening and music.

The family has a Labrador mix named Griffin, and two cats, Teddy and Blackberry. Griffin was a stray in need of elbow surgery, Teddy came with a broken leg, and Blackberry arrived when he was only 2 days old!
